Films are an important medium for the portrayal and representation of politics. Kashmir, known its natural beauty, became essential destiny Bollywood films. Many films were made in 1960s with Kashmiri protagonists. Most era apolitical, but post-1990s period, on Kashmir reflected politics too. One is Haider, based Shakespearean play - Hamlet.
